ReLUIS project Seismic performance of existing structures with base isolation and dissipative devices

This project was active in the years 2014-2018. The main objective was to develop and improve seismic SHM techniques to get insights into the experimental behavior of structures under seismic actions. The optimization of low-cost sensing systems and their integration with other technologies aimed to maximize the quality of information at minimum cost was investigated. Continuous and transient analysis techniques were integrated in order to minimize the uncertainty on the estimation of the parameters, minimizing at the same time the latency of information transmission. Monitoring information was also used to improve the knowledge on the seismic behavior of structures and non-structural components and the influence of the latter on the seismic structural behavior.
