Nilgün Merve Çağlar is a Seal of Excellence Fellow at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (DABC) of Politecnico di Milano, Italy. She received her PhD in Earthquake Engineering from Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute, Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey. She received her MSc in Structural Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey. She is working on the topics of wave propagation in civil engineering structures, as well as in the continuous medium, physics-based strong ground motion simulation, and structural health monitoring.
