Said Quqa is a Ph.D. fellow at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering (DICAM), University of Bologna, Italy. Research activities conducted during his Ph.D. program, co-supervised by Prof. Limongelli, focus on innovative and low-cost vibration-based monitoring strategies for civil structures and infrastructure. He studies power-efficient algorithms and technologies for the dynamic identification of linear and nonlinear systems and their implementation using smart wireless sensor networks. He also contributes to research on nondestructive testing, self-sensing materials, and structural control.
